Benjamin Teo now substantial Paramount shareholder

Benjamin Teo Jong Hian, 33, is the deputy group chief executive officer and executive director of Paramount.

KUALA LUMPUR: Benjamin Teo Jong Hian has emerged as a substantial shareholder of Paramount Corporation Bhd with a 28.9 per cent stake.

Jong Hian is the son of the late Datuk Teo Chiang Quan, the former chairman of Paramount.

The late Chiang Quan was the company’s chairman and executive director when he passed away on May 24 last year, Paramount said today.

Jong Hian, 33, is the deputy group chief executive officer and executive director of Paramount.

He was appointed to Paramount’s board of directors on Aug 22, 2019 and became its deputy group chief executive officer on Sept 1, 2021.

Jong Hian started his career at Paramount as a management trainee in 2012 and rose through the ranks to become chief executive officer of Paramount Property Development Sdn Bhd in 2018.

He had led the development of Co-labs Coworking, a network of coworking spaces.

Since 2021, he also had the overall responsibility of formulating and implementing strategic and operational plans for Paramount Property and navigating it to the next stage of growth.
