Paramount Corporation Berhad (Paramount) has clinched the Property Industry Excellence Award for Corporate Governance Disclosure at the MSWG-ASEAN Corporate Governance Award 2021. 2021 marks the 10th year that the Minority Shareholders Watch Group (MSWG) had undertaken the corporate governance assessment project to assess all Malaysian public listed companies, excluding the LEAP Market companies, as well as under Practice Note 17 and Guidance Note 3, on how they implement the principles of good corporate governance
MSWG’s press release stated that it had assessed 864 companies for the year 2021. Paramount was ranked 33rd among 864 companies. The 2021 assessment is based on disclosures in the latest annual report, Corporate Governance report and Sustainability report for the financial year 30 April 2020 to 31 March 2021, as well as other public source of information.
Paramount Deputy Group CEO Benjamin Teo said, “MSWG’s awards are among the most highly regarded for public listed companies. Paramount is honoured once again to receive the Industry Excellence award for Property, which is affirmation of the initiatives that we have taken. The award also motivates the Board, Management and staff to keep improving along the way.”
